If you are celebrating something special, meeting up with friends or simply fancy a long-overdue catch-up, our afternoon tea is a relaxed way to spend time together at Bewdley Museum.
We reserve your tables in the Sawyard courtyard and prepare everything for your group, with tablecloths and traditional tiered stands adding a little sense of occasion.
What’s Included?
Our afternoon tea includes a selection of finger sandwiches and savoury bites, freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of homemade cakes, and unlimited tea or filter coffee served alongside.
The exact selection can vary, and we will confirm the details with you when you book.
Why Is Afternoon Tea for Groups of Eight or More?
Our afternoon tea is a little different from simply ordering tea and cake from the café.
We reserve tables for your group, prepare the food in advance, dress the tables and set everything out on traditional serving stands. It takes extra preparation, space and staff time, particularly in our small outdoor café setting.
For that reason, we offer the full afternoon tea service for groups of eight or more only.
If there are fewer than eight of you, you are still very welcome to visit us for tea, coffee and homemade cake from our usual café menu, but we are not able to provide the full pre-booked afternoon tea service for smaller groups.
Booking Your Afternoon Tea
Please give us at least one week’s notice so we can confirm availability, discuss your sandwich and cake choices, and make sure we understand any dietary requirements in advance.
Afternoon tea is subject to availability and may not be offered during our busiest periods, including some spring and summer weekends, bank holidays, or days when larger events are taking place at Bewdley Museum or in the gardens.
To enquire about a date, please use our Get in Touch page and tell us your preferred date, approximate group size and any dietary requirements.
Our Outdoor Setting
All of our café seating is outdoors. Afternoon tea is served at reserved tables in the Sawyard courtyard, where we have both open-air seating and covered outdoor seating beneath our marquee.
If you would like to know more about the Sawyard, Bewdley Museum, the Herb Garden and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens, take a look at Our Venue.
Dietary Requirements and Allergies
We can discuss vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements when you book.
Our kitchen is small and handles flour and other allergens throughout the day, so cross-contamination cannot be completely ruled out. Please tell us about any allergy or intolerance before booking and read our allergen information.
