Spring is on the Way & So Are We – The Garden Kitchen Reopens Today!

15th Feb 2025 | Our news

After a well-earned winter break, The Garden Kitchen has officially reopened today, Saturday, 15th February 2025, and we’re so pleased to be back! The chiller is stocked, the coffee machine is working overtime, and our team is ready to welcome you once again.

It might not be the sunniest of days to reopen, but we’re here, keeping the kettle on and the cakes fresh. If you’re in need of a cosy spot to escape the drizzle, we’ve got plenty of hot drinks, homemade treats, and even our marquee outside to keep you warm and dry while you enjoy the gardens.

Getting Ready to Reopen – A True Team Effort

Behind the scenes, it’s been a busy week making sure everything was just right for our return.

The team has spent the past few days scrubbing down every inch of the café—from the counters to the corners, the coffee machine to the chiller, ensuring everything is spotless and fresh. There’s something really satisfying about getting everything sparkling clean, ready for a brand-new season.

Then, yesterday, our chefs arrived to prep the kitchen. They’ve been baking, slicing, mixing, and stocking up on everything we need to start the year strong. The chiller is now bursting with homemade cakes, fresh sandwiches, and plenty of seasonal goodies, so whether you’re after a quick bite or something sweet, we’re ready for you!

A Taste of What’s Waiting for You

If you’ve been missing your Garden Kitchen fix, you’ll be pleased to know that many of your favourites are back, with plenty more to come over the next few weeks.

  • Homemade cakes – Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut, chocolate brownies, and our ever-popular lemon drizzle.
  • Freshly made sandwiches – Packed with locally sourced ingredients and made fresh daily.
  • Warm and comforting drinks – From rich hot chocolates to the perfect cup of tea.

We’re easing back into things, so the menu may shift a little as we settle into spring, but rest assured, everything is homemade with care, using the best local ingredients we can find.

Signs of Spring in Jubilee Gardens

While it might not feel like it today, spring is just around the corner, and there are already hints of it in Jubilee Gardens.

The first crocuses have started to bloom, adding little bursts of colour among the greenery. Soon, the daffodils will follow, bringing that cheerful yellow glow that tells us warmer days aren’t far away. If you’re taking a walk through the gardens, take a moment to look down—you might just spot the first signs of the new season pushing through the soil.

While the herb garden remains closed until March, there’s still plenty of beauty to enjoy. Planning your visit? Take a look at Bewdley Museum’s website to see what’s happening.

Find a Spot (Even in the Rain!)

We know the British weather isn’t always on our side, but don’t let that stop you from visiting.

We have a marquee outside, giving you the chance to sit and enjoy your food while staying dry.

If you fancy a brisk walk around the gardens, you can always pop in afterwards for a hot drink and a slice of cake—the perfect way to warm up!

Opening Times

We’re keeping things flexible as we ease into spring. For now, we’re open from 10:00am and will stay open until at least 3:00pm—sometimes longer if it’s busy. If you’re ever unsure, just pop by, and if the doors are open, we’re serving!

We’re so excited to welcome everyone back and can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new visitors. So whether you’re stopping by for a coffee, planning a trip to Bewdley Museum, or just fancy a peaceful moment in the gardens, we’re here and ready to serve you something delicious.

See you soon!
